This old chapel is currently being converted into a private residence. The project has involved a number of planning and listed building applications, working closely with the Heritage Officer – trying to reach the right balance between retaining the existing open plan triple height chapel space and creating a workable 3 bedroom home.
CRITICAL ITEMS –
- Adding a rear extension for the additional third bedroom and utility space.
- Lining out the solid stone exterior walls with inner Porotherm blockwork to create a super insulated, watertight house.
- Pushing for solar PV tiles with the Heritage officer to future proof the property’s energy supply.
- Helping specify an ASHP with underfloor heating to work efficiently in the large chapel space.
